Have you heard the term Gemmotherapy? Curious to know what gemmotherapy is and why it’s the latest buzz word in holistic care. We’re here to help.

What is Gemmotherapy

Gemmotherapy was discovered by Henri Pol Bruxele and his colleagues back in 1965. Later this therapy was further developed into a clinical application by Max Tetau, MD.

Gemmotherapy is a modern method of draining the organism. It does this by using plant bud extract and other embryonic plant tissues. They are used in order to open cellular detoxification paths. It employs buds, inner bark, rootlets, or very young shoots of plants from various woodland trees and shrubs.

These buds are harvested in the spring, throughout the period of the best cellular division and plant growth. Also, it is found that during this stage they contain the highest concentration of active growth factor hormones, auxins, and gibberellins. These three hormonal agents contain valuable the matter required necessary to create the drainage of various organs and tissues, all at the cellular level.

To extract the embryonic substance from the fresh buds, fresh plant material is macerated in a special solution. This solution is comprised of 50 percent glycerin and 50 percent alcohol for three weeks. After which it is then filtered and diluted. It is prescribed in the primary decimal potency for maximum effect.

How Does Gemmotherapy Work

Gemmotherapy extends the drainage of toxins beyond the excretory organs and it ensures the detoxification of the skin, bones, heart, and also nervous system.

Gemmotherapy can be used alone or in combination with other methods. Gemmotherapy employs glycerin macerates of fresh buds and other vegetative tissues in the growing stage. The active principles inside the gems are present and then start to disappear after a plant reaches a certain point in its growth cycle.
