There are many questions and concerns when it comes to skincare – what to use, what not to use, skin types and so on. We know that the health of our skin mirrors the health of our gut, so healing begins from the inside out, starting with your diet.

Here are a few holistic tips to feel wonderful, both inside and out:

  1. Rose Water

While sunflowers and daisies are great, it’s all about roses for beauty purposes. Rose water has many benefits for all skin types. It helps to soothe and cool sensitive or irritated skin. It also balances and cleanses oily skin, while it rejuvenates, softens and tones mature skin. Finally rose water is known to revitalize and add a glow to normal skin.

Rose water is filled with anti-oxidants, it’s a natural antiseptic, with anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It can maintain your skin’s PH level and even help to cool you down on crazy hot days, as well as tone and hydrate your skin. You can use it as a facial cleanser or acne treatment or to set your makeup – talk about multitasking!

  1. Matcha Green Tea

Did you know that one cup of matcha green tea is equivalent to 10 cups of the usual green tea when it comes to its nutritional value and antioxidant content? This green tea powder is considered to be a powerful healthy drink with an extremely huge amount of antioxidants, hence its great health benefits. Applying matcha directly to the skin, in the form of a mask, helps treat rosacea and even acne.

  1. Honey

This inexpensive DIY solution and powerful skin treatment can help you regain your glow through any season. Honey has many anti-fungal and antibacterial properties, which can heal your entire body. It has been proven to be a throat soother, sleep aid and generally just super tasty. You can use honey as a facemask, cleanser, moisturizer, and spot treatment. After placing honey on your skin it is noticeably brighter, tighter and less dry. When used as a hair mask or conditioner it gives shine to dull hair and revives dead ends!

  1. Coconut Oil

A growing body of research, countless experts, and an army of natural-beauty devotees and celebrities swear by this multi-purpose oil. Are they onto something? Coconut oil has a multitude of uses from body lotion, sunscreen to make-up remover, facial cleanser or even a hair treatment. Here is a list of the many uses of coconut oil.
