Whatever fruit is your favorite, the evidence is clear that fruits not only give you good nutritional benefits, but they can also give you healthy and glowing skin. Let’s explore the best fruits to boost your skin quality and how you can incorporate them in your diet.

1. Mango

Mango is a delicious and juicy fruit that can do wonders to rejuvenate your skin. It contains the vitamins A, C, E, and K as well as beta-carotene, flavonoids, polyphenolics and xanthophylls. Because it has a lot of fibre and dietary sugar, it’s also great for your digestion if you’re having stomach problems. In terms of skin care, the fruit is great for anti-inflammation and works to protect your skin from lasting damage. Because of its healing properties, mango is often included in cosmetics and skin care products. You can either eat the mango in a shake or with your meals or you can actually apply mango pulp directly to your face and neck.

2. Watermelon

Watermelon is another great option for the skin, especially for those with sensitive or acne-prone skin. Watermelon is almost 92 percent water, so it’s great to boost your water intake and flush toxins from your skin. It’s also packed full of vitamin A, B1, B6, and C, lycopene, flavonoids and carotenoids, which are excellent for preventing skin damage. Tanya Reading, a health writer at Paper Fellows and Academized, says that “for the best benefits, you should drink watermelon juice daily or eat some each day. You can also put some watermelon pulp directly on your skin for a few minutes to get a nice glow.”

3. Oranges

Oranges are tasty and vibrant, but they’re also fantastic for the skin due to its high vitamin C content. Oranges are great for preventing photodamage and oxidative damage, as well as being helpful against inflammation thanks to its antioxidants. Finally, the synthesizing collagen helps to prevent DNA damage your skin could receive. The recommended dose for better skin is either through orange juice, eating an orange each day, or putting some orange juice on your skin for pigment issues and to get a brighter complexion.

4. Papaya

Papaya is rich in tons of vitamins like A, B, and C, as well as minerals like copper, potassium, and magnesium. This fruit is truly a superfood with great anti-fungal, antiviral, and antibacterial properties that can cure a lot of issues with your skin like infections, ulcers, warts, and eczema, to name a few. You can either eat some each day in your foods or shakes, or apply a pulp to your face. For dry and flaky skin, you can mix papaya pulp with almond oil and apply to the affected area.

5. Pomegranate

For brighter and better skin, you can also consider pomegranate. The seeds as well as the membrane and peel have antioxidants and can protect your skin against sun damage. The fruit has a lot of vitamin C and K as well in addition to potassium, calcium, phosphorus and magnesium. Like the other options on this list, you can either consume it directly or squeeze juice from the seeds to apply to your skin.

6. Apple

They say an apple a day keeps the doctor away but it also keeps your skin problems at bay. It’s a great source of dietary fiber, vitamins A and C, magnesium, potassium, and calcium. Lifestyle blogger Ken Watts from Australian Help and Ox Essays says that “apples can help cleanse your body of toxins and an especially good choice to keep your skin glowing through cold and dry winters. You can put some grated apple on your skin to immediately feel fresher, or add it to your daily meals.”

7. Banana

Last but not least, banana is an accessible fruit that can give you some great energy boosts in addition to its skin healing properties. You can even use the banana peel for its healing effects on your skin, especially if you suffer from acne scars. The banana itself is rich in fiber, vitamins A, C, E, and K as well as key minerals like magnesium, potassium, and calcium. Bananas are great for moisturized skin and as antioxidants.
